I agree I don't like Moncton in the city itself. If you need to live in town, have you looked accross the river in Riverview. I think its far nicer. It too is growing but in what seems to be a more thought out way.
We live 10 minutes from town but have 25 acres and a great view over the river, but with the convenience of Tim Hortons and Atlantic superstore just up the road.
No plans to live in town. We looked at Riverview - the waterfront area seemed nice, but we didn't like the small lots on the subdivisions. Guess that's not a problem if you have 25 acres

Definitely agree with the comments that the most important thing is to find a good job and get Canadian experience on the CV - it's the only reason we're moving to the Moncton area.
