Sponsoring PR
What is the fastest way to sponsor PR to my girlfriend?
I have my PR and thinking on the easiest and most time efficient way of bringing her over to Canada. I believe that marrying her would be the best option but how long does it take to grant PR rights?
I would like to thank all of you who answered any of my previous queries.
Thank you
Tom

I don't think marrying her will make much, if any difference. In fact, it could be detrimental as it could be seen as a marriage of connivence to get her PR
My wife, a Canadian citizen since birth, sponsored me and wondered if use being married made any difference (we were engaged when she sponsored me) and it made no difference at all.
Have a read of this on the wiki for info on Spousal / Common-Law sponsorship.
As for times. Well, outland applications are typically quicker, so if you're a UK citizen, apply to the London (UK) office. Think it's about 4 - 6 months (check processing times on CIC website). Disadvantage is if they want an interview, you need to fly over to London, which is an additional expense. From the sound of it she's not in Canada so I think outland is the only application you can do, if she were in canada on a work permit then you could possibly use inland sponsorship, takes longer (about 6 - 12 months, mine was about 9 months, think it's a bit longer now though), but if you need an interview it'll probably be a local CIC office, so no need to fly back to the UK.

Hi
Since they are neither married nor would it appear to be in Common/law relationship for 1 year, he can't sponsor her. So they are either going to have to marry, or live together in C/law relationship for a year.

Ah, of course, does help if I read and see no mention of CL / Living Together type relationships!
