sponsership?
#1
Hi everyone!
i may have the chance of a job in canada. I am so excited.
The agency said that they could sponsor me to work there.
But what i needed was some information on the sponsership process?
roughly how long?
can my son also go on my sponsership application?
what do i have to do?
Is there anything i can do to speed the process up?
i would be extremly grateful for any support
thanx

There isn't actually any such thing as a sponsorship process for a work permit, thats an American immigration term. In Canadian Immigration, sponsorship refers to the family class.
In Canada what a company has to do is contact Human Resource Development Canada (HRDC) and get teh job verified with them. this basicaly means that they have to prove certain things to HRDC about it being a genuine job and no suitable Canadians have applied and its been advertised publicly etc. Once they get that, you then use that to apply for a work permit, which can take only a matter of weeks so doesnt really need speeding up.
Your son can accompany you as your dependant depending on his age etc. If he is of school age i think they arrange a student permit etc.
