Pubsnpints is an unknown quantity at this point
Default The Spitfire Arms Alehouse

HI - Just wanted to drop a note here for any pub lovers/travellers who are in the Windsor, Nova Scotia area about my pub - The Spitfire Arms Alehouse. Closest thing to a real "local" is the best compliment I've heard from expats! My family hails from Manchester and London (both my grandmothers were War Brides). I visit the UK often, taking home things you'll see on display inside the pub - brewery items, a display case houses my WW2 and post war Commonwealth aviation artefacts plus a classic Francis-Barnett motorcycle. Proper football on the tele, darts, and REAL ALE on a hand pump...just like home! Cheers to all, looking forward to having you pop in for a pint.

Hey Troy this great news....I just wish it were closer to me....not to worry though I shall come and visit in a few weeks. What is the reaction from the locals? Do you have a good old pub atmosphere?...
Hey Crispie this will be pretty close to you when you get over here....

Good for you Troy

HI Corky,

Indeed the Spitfire has a proper "pub feel". The main bar is central to the floor plan and has seating/standing! room on three sides. It's over 9' tall and is fashioned after a late Victorian design - loads of detail in the woodwork and cobalt blue tiles on the bar top. Lots of expats make this their local as well as hundreds of other folks. We've been featured in several newspapers incl. the Globe & Mail plus this spring watch for us in Airforce and Flypast magazines. Send me an email and let me know when you'll be coming to visit. It truly is a "public house", I reside upstairs from the main bar. My rec room has a great pub in it!!

Cheers,
Troy
