Sorting Child Support payments to UK

$4,000/month actual (ie not taxable in the recipients hands) + a house + all costs (insurance, petrol, lease) related to an SUV not more than three years old equipped with leather seats + college tuition for two children, each month from 1989 until 2007 (not the tuition in all years). The children have now grown up so it's a bit less and is now called spousal support so I get to deduct some of it from taxes.

Whilst I sypathy with those men that are 'shafted' by the exes ALL sympathy goes out the window when they complain about the money they pay for the support of their child. They had the fun of 'making' the 'little' darling so help support him\her for freaks sake.

does anyone know for a 17 year old, do I need a letter of permission for her to leave the UK and move to canada with me?
She lives with me, and me and ex husband have a verbal agreement that i have full custody, he does not pay child support anymore and she sees him maybe once a month if he can be bothered. Is it a simple case of getting him to write a letter saying yes he allows her to move there, or do I have to go another route.
Thanks

How about 480 pounds a month for one kid - yep my hubby got royally screwed - that's what you get for using a pregnant divorce lawyer I suppose - luckily his ex wife has agreed to smaller payments so it's not quite so painful anymore - probably 'cause she got a new husband and they both work full time and had we gone through CSA his payments would have been a mere 250ish a month.

Your situation sounds similar to ours in that when we were in England my daughters lived with me. This was an arrangement between my ex-wife and myself and did not involve a custody order. During the application process to Canada my ex-wife had to sign a letter that was notarised by a solicitor to say that she gave her permission for my 17 and 14 year old daughters to make the move. It wasn't required for my 18 year old.
