I can live with those stripy garden spiders, although I have to shoo loads of them off my washing line every morning in September as the little sods build webs across to the garage and I have been known to walk through them...eeeeeeek!

Very often in Canada we would have to pop into a restaurant and have one person order something small, like a coffee, while the other ran to use the facilities before anyone cottoned on of the staff. McDonalds, Tim Hortons, and Burger King where safe havens where anyone could waltz in like you own the place and use the loos as you please....
Ladies, tip for you, ALWAYS carry kleenex in handbag as back up on you if visiting above mentioned fast-food loos as they aren't as regularly cleaned/toilet paper replaced as our pretty Canadian public toilets. More then once been caught doing the 'waddle & wash' after clean looking toilets turned out to be empty of anything vaguely toilet paperish as Canadians dont need disposable towelletes, costs too many trees... they're all blow dry jobs in our toilets like nature intended!
Why do you think so many women enjoy spending time at the large "malls" or shopping centres as they were called in Montreal... because its one of the few places that you may have to walk a distance, but DO actually have (usually) half decent public loos, usually about par with how expensive or crappy the shopping centre is
You can see famous Canadian Public Toilets in their habit which is mainly in expensive touristy areas especially those prone to foreign diplomats and world-wide sporting events or where you are expected to show how much money you can throw around. These being, of course, the only places were Canadians have bowel functions
