Yes, its pretty, and you can ski and toboggan and have fun.
But its cold and wet too, and you have to shovel it from your sidewalk and driveway, it makes driving "interesting", it blows back where you cleared it from, you have to keep putting on and taking off you boots and jacket as you come and go, the grit and salt from the road makes a mess of everything. Simple pleasure like going out with the kids become a chore as you have to suit them up (and then they decide they have to go pee) and then when you get back stop them tromping snow and salt all through the house when you get back... I could go on, but you can probably grasp how the novelty wears off after a while.
