Default Small Business Opportunities

I wanted to know from persons who are in canada and preferably from those who have lived in both US and canada about business scenario in canada. We all know that it's so difficultu to find a decent job in canada for immigrants. I wanted to know what about business scenarion for e.g if someone wants to open a small food chain, convenience store, leased gas station etc. . I am sure that if you do open that in US ( with a little market research for sure) you can be sure that people will come to your establishment as we all know how US economy works. Is it true for canada also. Do people eat outside, go for vacations bla bla ...(( Bottomline spend money )) as ppl in US do. I guess for those who arent so business savvy...it can be gauged from the no. of ppl they see in eateries etc. Also what sort of incentives do the govt provide; if any. Is there any provision of giving loans to small scale businesses etc. How much does it depend on your credit history( well i guess a immigrant hasnt any..) . Do they encourage if you want to establish in a low ocupation area etc etc.
