Hi Guys
I know most of the great skiing is in Western Canada but is there any good skiing East side? Any good skiing in Ontario within a 2-3 hour drive of Toronto? How about across the boarder in the US?
Thanks!

I thought blue mountain was good and it's a nice area, there are also glen Eden near Milton which is small but it's the sort of place you can go for a couple of hours there is as
Also chikopee near cambridge and lake ridge and Oshawa but I am not sure what they are like.

There are ski hills at Dagmar, Skiloft and Lakeridge, all just north of Whitby. Fine for some exercise and fresh air but not long runs or very taxing if you're used to mountains! Oshawa ski club (Brimacombe) is based at Kirby, east of Oshawa - longer lifts and runs - but all are relatively expensive for what you get - $40 for day pass.

Not Ontario, but you have Tremblant in Quebec.
Not sure what the drive would be though...

5 hours I think, but you have a pretty good service from the Island airport up there (Porter).
We went to Blue Mountain 4 weeks ago. It was really nice, actually. Collingwood's a nice town too. Never neen night skiing before, which is a pretty cool feature of BM.

Toronto - Mt Tremblant in 5 hours may just be doable in a Bugatti Veyron, 8 - 9 hours is more realistic.

You could always cross the border and go to Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid (site of 1980 olympics I think).

Moving to Ontario for the skiing is like moving to the UK for the skiing.

Yeah I know! Was hoping the move would be to Vancouver or Calgary but alas it looks like being Toronto. I am looking for the silver lining from a skiing perspective as I think Toronto is a great place in general! Oh well

In a decent afternoon I can get 6500ft of vertical in. Of course thats 32 runs down a 200ft drop, but its fun, and when I do venture farther afield at least I can ski half decently and appreciate the bigger hills without taking too long to find my ski legs.
Tremblent or Mt Blanc is a 5 hour drive from where I am, so tack on another couple of hours from TO. Ok for a long weekend, but not really a day trip.
Vermont is reachable too, but none of it is like out West.
My season pass for the might Mount Batawa (aka the batawa bump) cost me about $400.

Not exactly... looks ontario resort sized to me. The laurentians have more to offer (farther away)

probably cheaper and a less stressful drive than heading up the 400 to Collingwood, that might explain

You can tell I never tried the drive. 8 hours? Gulp.
