Default SIR OLIVER MOWAT COLLEGIATE INSTITUTE

I know its a long shot.

But does anyone know anyone who may know someone who goes to this school in East Scarborough,Toronto,Ontario, my lad is 13 and this is the nearest school to our new house, 1.5 miles away.

Just wondered if this school was good or not so good??

Thanks mag.....

I don't know of any kids that go there, but it's not a school that gets much negative publicity. Our eldest used to go to Army Cadets there on a Tuesday night.

The main ones in Scarborough to watch out for are Sir Winston Churchill (Lawrence Ave E and Kennedy Rd), and Cedarbrae (Lawrence Ave E & Markham Rd). The Lawrence Ave E / Morningside Rd / Kingston Rd intersection has had a few recent incidents.

Thanks C.H.

We have been offered a rental home very near to Colonel Danforth Park near Lawrence Ave E and Beechgrove Dr it looks a very leafy, nice area, on google maps, but being as you are local to this area can you tell us if it is a reasonable place to live. As in yobs and car crime ect.

Cheers Mag

If you look on live.local.com (Microsofts mapping programme), go to the 'birds eye' view imagery and you'll get a very good luck at the neighbourhood.

Any updates on Stephen Leacock CI....I went there for a year when we emigrated to Canada.....I've heard it is on the slide now and isn't considered a 1st choice for academics.

I think you're in a pretty good area there. You have 43 Division's Police station just around the corner, and a Library near Heron Park (it's the one I use). Once you get a Library card you can use it in any of the Toronto libraries even for up to an hour a day computer time.
