Simplified process application. Timescales update
#1
Just thought this might be of interest. We applied in August 2006 under the simplified process for PR and yesterday we had a lovely brown envelope waiting for us at home saying we were finally being processed and to send updated information. When we first applied the letter back from CIC told us it would be 42 months before we heard anything. Its been 25. Now we have the mammoth task of getting together all our documents. Can I ask a stupid question though? The letter asks for payslips for the last 10 years. Is that right or am I reading it wrong?!!!

Hi Neekie
Congratulations.
Re your pay slips, I think I sent my P60 End of Year Tax certificates to prove my earnings and that I had had the income tax deducted which is what they want to know.
Cheers

Thanks Ray. Thats a relief!! Who keeps 10 years worth of pay slips? I could probably scrape together 2 years worth but that would take me forever!!!

Hope this unexpectedly early request suits you....
10 years of payslips? I thought you just had to justify 4 years of work experience in your chosen category.
How long have they given you to collect all the documents? Is it 3 months?
Have you got a house to sell too?
I bet you are in a right state of excitement and mild panic now!
I am.....just hearing your news has brought home to me that this time next year and we could be receiving the same brown envelope.....and I had figured that next August would be our half-way point of waiting!
Good luck!
