Hi
We have got tickets booked for the Emigrate2 show in Coventry in October - Does everyone think that they are worth it and what kind of info am i likely to find??
Quite excited really - feel like it is actually happening now instead of just being talked about! sad really - imagine what i will be like when we are doing the application!!
Thanks

You'll find alot of people on here have very negative things to say about the expos/shows due to their experiences. I'm going to the one in May at Leeds on the 9th,10th so look out for my thread and others who are going to that one. Apparently from what I've heard they seem to have a bias towards Alberta and trades/nursing which suits me fine, trades that is not nursing

I know what you mean though it does make things seem more real, once our SK application goes off this week it will seem alot more real.

Hiya
I have been in contact with some settlement people in Nova Scotia (where we are looking at) and they are going to be at the one in Oct which is one of the reasons we chose to go. I dont mind that they are focused towards Trades either as my OH will be the main applicant and he is a Plumber!
Hope it goes well in May - let me know how you get on!! Good Luck with you application.

From: sheffield..but my heart is in Vancouver

went to Leeds last year.. found some of the seminars useful but really I wouldn't have bothered if I had known. My OH is a carpenter and we were led to believe that it would be good for him - we came away with nothing except 1 company of recruiters charging silly amount of pounds to assist us.. not what we were looking for at all.
But then again we were looking more towards BC rather than Alberta or Toronto so if you're heading in that direction then you may have more luck.
