Question Should we go in September?

Hi all,
we are seriously thinking of going on a holiday to Nova Scotia for 10 days in September. Those who will know, we are waiting for our pr, but won't be till about may/june next year. We made a visit in feb to halifax, but that seems such a long time ago. Should we go for a holiday, get camper for 7 days and travel around cape breton area, then 3 days with sister in halifax. But is it a waste of time and money? Or should we do a beach holiday to spain, not sure what to do. It will be about £2,000 for the 3 of us, should we keep money for the actual move. We are just so fed up with being here, try to make things happen at weekends, but we end up stuck in or doing something for the hell of getting out and spending money. Are we the only ones feeling like this?

Go to Halifax, be there at the end of the month, and meet up with us at UKJO's!

HI

In the last 12 months in the UK before we came to Canada we "did" the UK hot spots and did Europe and am so glad we did now. There were some places we did not have time to get to etc and we regret it. If you know where you are going etc and are happy with your desicion and don't feel like you need a research trip then I would stay put and holiday closer to home, soon you won't be able too and you will miss Europe when you realise it is not on your doorstep!

Hi,

I too would recommend touring the UK and Europe a little bit instead, taking low-budget flights and then saving the rest for when you move. When we left Greece for America, we travelled around the Mediterranean a little bit, and stayed for a few weeks in Egypt as well. I'm glad we did, as one really misses Europe when in North America.

Good luck!

Plenty of opportunity to explore NS once you land, Whereas a beach holiday in Spain will cost a small fortune to do from Canada. Enjoy it while you can

Hi there,
great to see pics, now i know who i'm talking to. I think we have deceided not to come over in september, would mean jamie taking more time off work unpaid, which he is not keen to do, so we will have to grin and bear it here. We are going down to london in 2 weeks, so doing all the tourist things, and taking samuel to see the loin king at theatre, which is what my sister did when she came over and said it was brilliant. Then we are going to have maybe 2 days in the lakes, if i can get my dog in kennels. Sad not going to be ther for barbie insep, but i'm sure we will have plenty next summer.

Cool Re: Should we go in September?

Hi Wendy,

Sorry to hear that you are not going to hop over for Jo's bbq. Would have been nice to meet up with you - as you say plenty of bbq's next summer. This will be our first trip and major fact finding mission. So much to do and so little time to do it all in. We intend to pack as much as possible into our weeks trip.

I've taken the week off following our return in order to deal with any issues that need addressing upon our immediate return, and to catch up on some sleep. Hopefully we will have done our homework and this will enable us to get the PNP ball rolling!

Will no doubt have some photo's to post from our visit, especially the bbq. We are counting the days until we go. The flight itinery arrived on Saturday and our flight times have changed, depart U.K. earlier and return later. All the more time in Nova Scotia!

Enjoy your trip to London

Hi Wendy

Shame you wont be here for UKJOs next BBQ. The last was a blast...... There will be plenty more in the spring/summer of 2005 to celebrate your landing.

Great picture Jo, role on the next one
