Default Shipping Timing Query

Evening all

Have been researching shipping options tonight and have gained lots of info on the search function but I still have 1 query which I hope some of you may be able to answer for me.

Is there a timeframe within which your goods must arrive?

I ask because we plan to travel around for 6 months or so but still want to bring things with us eventually when we get a perm address.

Thanks in advance for your help

Kelly

how about checking with the shipping company of your choice about storage on either side? i had my stuff in storage in my former country of residence until i got pr and only then gave the ok for shipping. if i'm not mistaken some people here (gaynor (burton bunch)???) had it in storage here until they moved in their new home.

as for the official side: afaik there is no time limit by which you must import your stuff - as long as it is on your goods to follow list which you present and got stamped by the cbsa officer at the time of landing...

As far as i am aware no. We "landed" in march and presented our goods to follow list and we collected our possesions from customs yesterday.

I would suggest though you consider putting your goods in storage in canada when you land permanently. (cneledred has done this and can still access all his belongings)

Regards

Steve
