I have to bring the last of my stuff from Scotland to Nova Scotia. Mostly it's books and clinic equipment with some household. Not sure if that makes any difference.
What is the best way? I was planning on putting everything in a crate, possibly about 1 meter cubed and sending it by boat. At present I'm on a temporary work permit but will be applying for provincial nomination when I get back next week. I have been working in my job over 1 year and have a permenant contract.
Will I get hammered for tax and will my stuff have to be fumigated? Also, does anyone have a shipping company they would recommend?
Many thanks.

Did you do a goods to follow list with the stuff you plan to send when you originally landed? If not im pretty sure you may have to pay tax.
I've never heard of stuff needing fumigating, we brought loads of books and never had a problem.
Both myself and my friend used GB liners and we both only had small consignments. Under £1200. And took only 4 weeks.
I think GB has an office in Glasgow.

Any goods for commercial/business use would be subject to taxes.
Until you get PR status any goods imported must be for personal use and would be exempt of any taxes.
Initially your goods are brought in as temporary but in your case can stay provided you get PR status.
