Shipping stuff prior to getting work visa

It's perfectly legitimate to buy property as a non resident and to ship possessions to furnish it. I don't really see the problem. I had a return ticket, and was up front about short term and long term plans.

One has to ask why then are there over 40,000 warrants issued to remove people from Canada who have overstayed their welcome?
Why are there thousands working under the table is it because they cant legally work in Canada? So this is not a problem then in your eyes?

I said it's not a problem when it's a perfectly legal choice to make. Those that abuse the option deserve deporting or whatever sanction is appropriate. Don't imply that moving here to buy property and importing possessions is complicated or that I dont see illegal immigration as an issue. You're misconstruing my post.
Your situation is not the normal scenario encountered everyday and occurred several years ago. Times have changed and procedures have changed.
At the moment Canada is one of the more desirable countries to live and work in as evidence by the number of foreign workers. Some people do not go through the correct procedures or make applications to come and work they just show up and when granted entry then start looking for work.
That is who needs to be stopped.
You are misconstruing my answers.
