Oh I couldn't bear to sell my furniture as I just love it, sad I know, but I also didn't want the hassle of spending all day shopping and replacing it all. Furthermore, I am glad it brought it all with us now as furniture here is so expensive:eek: and the quality is not that good.

Hi,

I got a quote from Anglo Pacific - absolutely hated the rep he couldn't wait to leave after quickly going through the house and couldn't be bothered to go into the garage! Anyway they came out at the most expensive.

Got a 2nd quote from Robinsons - loved the rep and price was good for a 20ft sole use container. They were so professional when they packed our furniture. I would highly recommend them furthermore, our goods arrived exactly 5 weeks later no damage except for a table leg which had snapped off but I didn't care as everything else arrived in perfect order.

Hi Tracie,

Got Robinsons coming tomorrow, can you give me an approx figure you were quoted for a 20 foot container just so I know what to expect?

We also went with Robinsons, Midlands to Vancouver Island, have to say they were excellent both in the UK and over here (AMJ Campbell).

Hi guys I'm sorry to hijack this thread. We hope to move BC not long from now hopefully, fingers crossed;) We are not bringing our furnitures and bikes with us. We just want to ship personal items: books, clothing, some kitchen wares and toys so probably just need some few boxes. Would Robinson's still give us a quote? thanks

Hi, I am relocating to Canada next month. We had quotes from Whites, Masons, Pickfords, Anglo Pacific. We have chosen Masons as three of my friends used these and they have a good reputation. They will be in in fourteen days time. Good luck.

Hi Mel,

All in all including insurance we paid about £7,000 this was shipped from London to Vancouver then delivered to our door. Robinsons use a company called 'Williams' once in Canada.

Just another one for your list, we used Crown and they were brill. Blackpool to Vancouver Island. We did not need container as not that much stuff, so went groupage. Just takes longer but all arrived fine

Just for a comparison, ours came to just over 2 grand, we had 55 boxes, large dinning table, 6 chairs, and king size bed and mattress. That included the insurance. We had allowed for large garden furniture that we did not take, so had a refund in the end of just over 200 pounds. That was from Blackpool to Vancouver Island, using Crown. Great service, really well packed.
