Default Shipping goods from the U.S.

We bought a Mcullogh steam cleaner from Amazon.ca to clean our grout especially after engrained muddy paw prints. The trouble is, it seems nigh impossible to get replacement brushes either in or delivered to Canada- they don't last long and so we need replacements ASAP! We don't really know any kind souls south of the border and don't live near enough to the border to scoot across and use a PO Box. Any ideas anyone? Has anyone use reshipping companies, using their address in the U.S and then forwarding the goods on to your address in Canada. Are they safe? Are they expensive? Any recommendations? Any thoughts or help would be gratefully received! We will try and clean the paws from now on!

Contact the manufacturer and tell them your situation and see if they will ship them by regular parcel post or contact a supplier of the product that sells in the US or Canada.

Apparently others have tried to contact the manufacturers with absolutely no luck, no other suppliers in the U.S. We may in the end have to phone them rather than email but I was trying to think outside the box. There is absolutely no one selling them in Canada hence my post!.

Home Depot, Walmart and Target sell them in the US but no idea if they carry parts.
Pretty poor from the manufacturer if they won't listen to their customers. Id be phoning them during business hours or at least sending them an email.

Thanks FL, I agree- people have got nowhere emailing them. We will try phoning them if we get no response with our emailing. Only the manufacturers sell the spares, no one else unfortunately. Maybe should have looked into it before we bought but it got excellent reviews and we didn't realize how quickly the brushes deteriorate. It otherwise works a treat!

We use Shipito.com for re-shipping purchases from USA.

They are very reasonable (they don't add much on to the actual shipping price).

Shipito Shipping Calculator

Choose Minden as the Warehouse when using the calculator link above (you can't use the other ones unless you pay for a multi-parcel mailbox)

We always select a USPS option as these have never resulted in any duties or taxes.

Thanks Withabix
I saw that they had some recommendations elsewhere. It is nice to get to first hand experience report.

Thanks Mike Gas
I presume that that would entail a pickup from Oroville- unfortunately that is a non starter for brushes- 400km round trip!! I did look on Amazon.com and indeed UK! No joy. Only the manufacturers supply them - grrrrrrr!

I found some brass brushes http://www.ebay.com/itm/McCulloch-MC-1275-Heavy-Duty-Steam-Cleaner-Brass-Brushes/361249536092?_trksid=p4069.c100039.m2059&_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140107094819%26meid%3D95fb64ce7cdb4fb5a8ed8f4a14f22d9c%26pid%3D100039%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D3%26mehot%3Dlo%26sd%3D361249536092on but they would probably be a bit harsh on the grout.

Have you tried calling their freephone number and asking them if they will ship to you? I have read that they are quite amenable to requests.

Thanks Siouxsie- I suggested that to SnoopDawg but she suggested that if I tried one of those on the nice, but grubby tiles, she would use it on my nether regions.... I decided probably not a great idea then! They are apprently good on BBQs etc. She contacted the helpline... Frickin useless! -probably going to with the Shipito though Mcullogh would have to accept that delivery address will be different to the billing one. FFS I ordered a fairly costly piece of photography gear from my Photo Heaven.... B&H in NYC and no hassles and will be delivered rapidly to my office, no sweat. They can do it!!!
