Default shipping a few heavy boxes?

Hi All,
We emigrated back in 2011 from London, UK to Vancouver but left a few heavy items with my parents in West Wales. What's the cheapest way to get them over to Vancouver?
We don't need them to get to Vancouver quickly. We're going back to the UK for spring break & flying with Transat so I did wonder if we could get them on as cargo but one item is 6ft and we'd need transport from Wales to Gatwick…
Arghhh - hoping not to spend too much!
We used White (I think) last time they were just OK but that was a whole container...
Can anyone suggest some options please??
HUGE thanks
Oceane

I used Anglo Pacific in 2012 for 15 boxes and again in 2015 for 5 boxes and 3 rugs (no furniture): just the kind of stuff or similar to what you are describing. It was fine, no problem but I was in London.

But I've seen other people suggest other methods on here as well.

In 2015 the 5 boxes and 3 very large rolled up rugs came to GBP 250 or so. In 2012, the 15 boxes came to about GPB 500 or so. I don't know how that compares. I think it was favourable compared with whoever else I researched in 2012, but I can't remember. In 2015 we just used them again because we thought they were good first time around. I suppose the cost may vary depending on where to where.

You could call them for a quote. I spoke to Maddie both times who was excellent and really knew her stuff. Try asking to speak to her:

! International Shipping Company | International Removals | Overseas Movers Anglo Pacific Plc

Not sure about now, but a few years ago you could share a shipping container with other people. So if someone else was sending a part container over, you could pay your portion of the volumetric load to make up the cost.

I used a local freight forwarder to pick up several tool boxes of tools, and a metal airfreight trunk. I prepared them and left them in my mother's garage and the freight forwarder collected them a few days later.

Despite the weight, the forwarded advised that a small shipment wouldn't cost much more to airfreight than to ship in a container, so a few days later the shipment arrived in the US. As far as I remember it cost me around £300. If I had had them delivered to my door, rather than pick them up at the airport myself, it would have cost maybe another £100 or so.
