We used International Moving Co (GB Liners) and were happy with price and service. Leicester to Van Island.

Another GB Liners user here - professional and efficient, from Worcestershire to Kamloops, BC. Not the cheapest, not the dearest.

Re: Shipping companies: UK to Canada
I have just been Quoted £4800 by White&Co for moving to Prince Albert in SK from Poole in Dorset.
This is for a 2 bed flat with not much furniture.
Only me and the wife.
Seem a bit excessive to me.
To give me an idea what sort of things are you taking.
Whites quoted for a shared container so again seems to make the price excessive.
Any help to get the price down would be greatly received.
£3000 to £3500 was my idea of costs based on other posts.
Thanks
Andy

we used robinsons -very unhappy
extra charge for having over their estimate, when we unpacked there were several breakages. and many of the boxes had paper filling them up, or they have even packed empty boxes in the shipping boxes.

We used Anglo Pacific - good price and good service and we didn't need to pay until we were in Canada!

Re: Shipping companies: UK to Canada
I am looking to relocate to Canada - we are moving from a three bedroom house with 2 adults and two children under the age of three. I have only had one quote so far but does anyone know how much shipping would cost roughly from Berkshire (near London) to Vancouver. We are not taking any of our furniture.
Many thanks

Thank you all for your input. We took your feedback into account and we appreciate your time.
We shipped the boxes through Britannia (we did not take any furniture).
In the next coming days, my fiance will post a detailed message about the shipping experience so that others can benefit from it.
Thank you again and expect a fully detailed message soon.

Have sent you PM as we are also in Berkshire. Cannot help with your costs as we are taking everything so the cost will be much higher. We have opted for PSS Removals.

Re: Shipping companies: UK to Canada
I have used a company called cargo forwarding ltd the are a subsidiary of TR Shipping, a bonded customs clearing company. "They are a forwarding company only". My bro in law used to work for Whittles so he got me all the wrapping and packing products so i have saved £100 there. Some hard work and sweat and we have packed or own house,Everything that is not electrical. I have enough to just about fill a 20 foot container. How much i hear you say. well looks like i have saved 2 grand compared to most of the quotes you have been getting.
Cut out the removal company, buy some boxes paper and bubble wrap pack it yourself so you cant blame anyone else for ddamageor you know it is done right. In all the container cost £2200, insurance cost £80 and and whatever it cost me to clear customs in Calgary. Container gets dropped on the 27th Dec picked up the next day leaves Belfast 2 Jan via Antwerp, Montreal then overland to Calgary, about second week Feb.
Hope this can do some good the money is better of in your pocket than a removal company if your willing for a bit of work.

Yep we used Bishopsmove in the UK who were excellent, good packing, very quick and efficient. BUT Tippet Richardson initially in Vancouver (where our stuff initially arrived) and then Calgary were awful, missed promises, lost paperwork, overcharging you name it. Avoid like the plague.....
