Default Shipping to Canada, less than half a container

Hi

I have been researching different moving options for Canada and I need some help. Basically I will have less then half a container so I want to know if there is another option other then paying for half and not needing it. Is there a shipping company that anyone has used from England to Canada that isn't a container company? I will not be bringing any furniture with me so it is just boxes of my stuff that I will be sending. I appreciate any help! Thank you

Hi there,

I've just been looking into shipping too, and we are going to use a company called Elite Shipping. We got a brilliant quote for a 20 ft container (self load) and found them to be really helpful. I noticed that they offer a service where you can 'share' a container. I don't know what the ins and outs of it are but it might be worth a phone call to them.

Here's a link to their site

you can use half a container and share it with someone else. The removal companies will tell you that , or at least they should. The obvious benefit of that is you share the cost but the downside is it could take longer for your stuff to arrive if they deliver the other stuff first. If you only have boxes have you looked at air freight ?

We shipped boxed via air, try Transglobal Express for a quote. They use companies like DHL but are cheaper than going direct.

Had we not flown into Toronto we would have used Air Transat cargo service as it was very cheap.

It depends on their route, I know we had to consider how we would get the cargo from Toronto to Ottawa, hence we decided against Air Transat.
