HI have you done a search on this, so many of us have posted on shipping companies before.

Good luck to you.

I have indeed carried out a search but can find nothing that is up to date and going from the uk to Kelowna,

I have had one quote from Whites which was very high and would only like to use a recommended company.

Thanks.

Fair enough.

I moved from Reading to Pemberton, BC, and got quotes from the following companies, who all came to my house and spent an hour doing a survey:

Allied Pickford
Doree Bonner
Whites
Anglo Pacific
Fox International

Be careful on the insurances the different companies sell, one of the companies i saw cannot sell actual "insurance" as they are not registered to do so, and try to sell some alternative product, so i dismissed them.

Another company was just so much more expensive, 1 i didnt like, and that basically left 2 to choose between and i played them off against each other on price.

Shipping is never cheap. In the end i paid £2700.

I have just had a quote this morning from Whites £4800. for 2/3 of a container plus insurance plus they missed off lots of items and have to come back and add them on. so goodness knows what the price will be.

We used GB Liners to ship from Worcestershire to Kamloops - good professional service and mid-range price from what I remember.

Starting from scratch is more cost effective than spending GBP4k or less on shipping?

Have fun shopping, and don't forget to factor in the 4-8 week delivery times on many items.

Hi woodywoodside

We used PSS from Berkshire to Kelowna but don't know if they cover Devon area. http://www.pssremovals.com/

Check them out, we had no issues with them and the total bill was £4200 for sole use of 20ft container door to door.
Obviously storage and insurance were extra if required.

yes rich anglo pacific wanted four and a half grand for all the lot
so the o/h spent a good deal of time checking out prices around
calgary warehouses and such and for not a lot more we could
furnish a home. as we are both getting on a bit ?, we thought we
would eliminate as much hassle as possible . while she go'es funiture
shopping i'll check out rv prices .
