No question, for me Shaw. Hugely faster than Telus unless packaged via Optik

Cable is faster until a lot of people use it, then it slows down. We have Telus on 6mbs and manage to stream TV OK and do everything we want to do. I found Telus customer service vastly superior to Shaw, the difference was night and day. Would never go back to shaw.
A friend is with Shaw, he moved recently, they promised the world and delivered less than he was on before.

Funny I found the opposite. Telus were expensive for what they were offering so I switched to Shaw with a large discount and that has finally run out so I'm bluffing the cancellation waiting for the call with a big discount.
Have a look at the Shaw forum on Shaw forum There are a few Shaw reps there and they will email you their deal they are offering.

Don't go with Telus unless its Fibre Optics... The phone line internet is just pants. Shaw no question.

The consensus is everyone has their own experiences and you are likely none the wiser. Some have found Shaw to be Ok and Telus not, other found Telus to be good and Shaw not.
The customer service is the key issue, which you don't find out until you are committed. Everything is OK when it works, when it doesn't you find out which is the better one to have gone for.

6 Mb/s is consideresd dinosaur in todays world. Mind you, if telus has optik in your area it will be good. Otherwise Shaw for the sake of speed. Also check out the smaller providers such as TekSavvy, Start.ca , etc which piggyback off of Shaw's network but have better customer service.

I've used Telus and Shaw, and I can't say anything positive about Telus, but Shaw has always provided good service both on the phone and in person, and anytime something has gone wrong (which is rare) they have corrected it quickly.
I'd personally go with Shaw, Telus is a pain in the rear to deal with.

I'm with Shaw. I have a bundle deal but am realising I don't really need the TV or Home Phone! If you cancel parts of a bundle deal everything goes to full price though.
Also when I first arrived a Shaw rep told me nothing was discountable, but others were very keen to offer deals. Shop around if you are with Shaw.

But as the diet commercials say, results may vary, so what is good for one, may not for another. Nobody will know until they commit and try a company out.
