I am just jealous of course
It's definitely all correct and legit.

$116 is not a huge drop from what I used to pay them anyway- about $130 a month. I pay around $135 to Telus at the moment. I'll gladly take $79 a month for the next 12 months and then $116 thereafter...

Has to be one of the new Shaw Pace boxes and it has to be an eSata drive.

So would I. Is it the full digital phone (1000 minutes a month to certain international numbers) and a full HD package?

I had to pay $9 extra for the full HD package, but it is the full digital phone service- including free caller ID, 411, free long distance calls across North America.

Are you already with Shaw?

If so don't count on getting this deal, they couldn't care less about customers they already have.

It's either a deal offered to lure you away from Telus or they offer an even better deal if you went with Telus and they want you back.

Might take longer than a week.

Or you could try telling them you are going with Telus, you want your account canceled and see what their retention people are willing to offer to keep you.

But from what I hear you do literally have to tell them to cancel your account.

OK, looks like I'll be calling Telus then. Do Telus do contracts? What will I do with all my PVRs

As far as I know Telus does do contracts, Shaw does not.

Also Telus high speed is not as fast as Shaw, at least so I'm told.

As for the PVRs keep them for when you go back to Shaw...because you will.

Yeah, I have heard that Telus's service is not as good as Shaw's. Oh well, maybe I will stay with Shaw and scowl at Jericho for having been able to get such a good deal

Then I won't tell you of the offer a friend recently got to go back to Shaw after being with Telus for 2 years.

For $79.99 a month you get:
- Digital phone service, including caller ID, free long distance calls in North America
- Digital cable, including 1 HD PVR and 1 Standard cable box
- all the channels in their Digital TV package
- High speed internet, with upgrade to the speed booster

For an extra $9 a month, we added the HD channel bundle.
This goes up to $116 after 12 months...
My normal bill with Telus is about $135, and I dont get any HD channels.

I signed up on the spot, and it all gets installed in 2 weeks.

For those who have bundles through Telus/Bell etc, you might want to keep an eye out for these guys if they come round....
We've found that since going HD we very, very seldom watch the other digital channels anymore.

I just spoke with a Shaw customer care rep and she confirmed for me that although the website does not mention it you DO get the basic HD channels with Digital TV Basic ($35.95 per month).

So as an example our bill for TV, Internet, Digital phone lite and the extra HD channels will be $35.95+$35+$29.95+$9 = $109.90

We own both our Cable Modem for internet and the Digital Cable box for TV so there is no monthly rental charge for either of those.

Seems like a decent deal. Not sure what else you get, but we get a free internet speed boost, which will *supposedly* be 7 times faster than the Telus speeds. We also get a HD PVR.
All in all, for 80 bucks a month, I almost snapped their hands off.
