Wow, did not know that!

In that case...perhaps Canada Post isn't that bad after all for parcel delivery!

Me too - I've had two parcels from the UK in the last few days, both had been opened with a note saying if anything is missing to let them know

That's just the last date they will gurantee arival before christmas. It's still likely if you send it now or even next week that it will arive in time (prior to all the snow issues of course!)

There are no guarantees with Canada Post, it's the latest suggested date. In our experience it really is hit and miss whether things will arrive in time for Christmas no matter how early you send it.

Just make sure that if you send a small parcel that it is marked as a SMALL PACKET (if applicable..). We sent half a dozen small parcels by surface to the UK for Xmas last year (all by the last posting date and on the same day) and they all got there in time except the largest which was helpfully sent as a surface PARCEL and didn't get there until the end of January......
In our local PO you have to insist that they locate the small packet feature on their machine as they only seem to recognise parcels.
Mind you it can take a week for a letter to reach the other side of the island.... seriously!

I send money the other way ( to Canada) via paypal costs nothing, not bad rate either,The recipient doe's not need a PayPal account just a e-mail address.
