Just wondering if anybody is selling there house at the moment and how is it going with viewings and offers. ?????????????????????????????????

Our house in Alix Alberta has been up for sale since the beginning of summer. We have had 8 viewings no offers.
Alix is a rural area and a notoriously hard sale, when we bought the property in 2009 we bought it for the long term and it was the 1st house to sell in the area for over a year. There have been some sales in Alix this year, just not ours
To be honest we're surprised we have had as many viewings as we have had.
Now we have got over the shock of the financial crisis we faced in the spring and have made some headway with the problem, it's not so crucial we sell. If we get a damn near close to the asking price offer then we know we're supposed to sell, if not, then we know we're supposed to keep it, which is what we are planning for (we all just love the house and where it is).
On a more positive note a few of the houses that have been up for sale in our local neighbourhood in Red Deer have sold in the lastcouple of weeks, I think I've noticed 3 SOLD signs in the area. They have taken between 2 and 8 months to sell, but then there is lots of choice out there at the moment. (Another reason people are not looking out of town).

I am attempting to sell a house at the moment. It's a difficult sale due to the location, it's rural and it's close to the site of a "proposed" huge gravel pit. Originally it was listed with a local agent who was ineffective both in selling it and in conveying why he was unable to sell it.
More recently it's been listed with another agent who has commuted from Toronto for open houses and showings. There have been three or five showings a week as well as open houses most weekends for weeks. There is finally an offer on the property but, there being many a slip, it's conditional on the sale of the buyer's house. The buyer wants the same agent to sell that but will only pay a 1% commission. When last seen the agent was pondering swallowing his pride and selling that one at a loss for the sake of finally being rid of the rural listing.

We have just sold our house in Hampshire, it took 3 weeks to sell and 10 weeks for the sale to exchange, we complete on Monday!!
We still havent received our nomination from Sask yet so it is alittle scary as we will be living in limbo until it arrives, with all our processions in store with the shipping company!

Ours in Burnaby Bc gets formally listed on Monday =although the sign is up. I have noticed a number of peeps going slowly past, which is funny, cos we live at the end of a cul de sac.
some mad asian lady was parked halfway across my drive and lawn today in her big 4wd as I came back from hound walking and then proceeded to interrogate me on number of kitchens, room sizes etc how much . . . . she got out the car - I thought she was going to come in !!
I told her to wait til its listed on monday . . Blimey not sure whether to leave son on his own if people are just gonna come barreling up - he has a tendency to answer the door and not think about the hounds - Scoobs is quite territorial - it could cause a scene!

We are now into our 3rd week on the market and are keeping our fingers crossed for a few more viewings. The thing that I have noticed are the silly comments that people make, to be honest I just wish they would say nothing at all, I am hoping for a spurt around mid Oct then everyone will panic about being in for christmas.
