i am a canadian permanent resident , coming to Vancouver on my own during June 2006. Don’t know a soul in Canada. i needed a mentor who can guide me to the canadian system. Pls help if you can

The Canadian system of what? I think you will have to be a bit more specific as to what you want.

Feel free to read the relocation section of my web site.

Some of the tips may not be relevant to Vancouver. For example, while vehicles in most of the rest of Canada have block heaters in their engines, that may or may not be true in Vancouver with its milder winters. Having visited Vancouver only as a tourist, I cannot remember whether or not Vancouver vehicles had electrical outlets sticking out from under their hoods (bonnets).

However, if you read the relocation section of my web site, it'll at least help you to get to the point at which you know which word searches to do here on the British Expats forum. Then if the previous posts that you find by that method are unclear, you can ask specific questions.
