Default Seattle-BC

We moved to BC in August and have family coming out to stay with us for Christmas. They are flying into Seattle and we are collecting them and driving to Abbotsford BC to cross the border.
They have asked us what the procedure is for them as they will be arriving in America and heading straight for Canada and they ad we, aren't sure what they have to do. I presume they will have to complete the green cards as normal on the plane but is there anything else they have to do at the border?
Any advice greatly apreciated!

I know they will need the green cards to land in US . . ..after that am sure some one else can help, but must be fairly easy to cross to Canada . .

I don't think Green Cards are required if they are visiting the US/Canada. I think they can cross the border into Canada with just a passport and possibly a return ticket.

I always thought that Green Cards were required if one was seeking permanent residence in the USA. I think you'll find that to be true if you Google "green cards".

As a British Citizen visiting the US, you will need a I94 Visa-waiver form (yes, printed on green card!) upon arrival in Seattle, which gets stapled into your passport. The airline crew will dish these out on the plane. They're valid for up to 90days if you're doing multiple trips in/out of the US. In addition, you'll have to go through US customs.

No such visa required for entry into Canada, just turn up at the border and deal with customs.

If your relatives are flying back out of Seattle, remember to leave lots of time for the border crossing.

We used to do that cos a family member got cheap flights in Seattle on BA. I think you just keep that long form they hand out on the plane for entering the States. I dont remember any aggro apart from the 3 hour queue to get past the Peace Arch into Washington. Why do the yanks have 3 entry points open and our side always had about 15. Grrrrr.
