Scottish Qualifications
Hi,
This has probably been covered in a post somewhere, but I can't find any. Can anyone recommend a website, or company that will enable me to work out what the Canadian equivalent of Scottish Qualification Authority grades are, and also what SVQ/SCQF/Modern Apprenticeships.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Scottish Qualifications
Tell us your qualifications and we can take it from there. Unions still have lots of clout in Canada (unlike Scotland). They, your desired destination and your qualifications, are very significant.

Re: Scottish Qualifications
I'll take a stab at this with the basic info you have provided, then maybe open it up further.
My best guess on your 'modern apprenticeship' based on what you've told us is an SCQF level 6 (NVQ2/3 in England)
Your Scottish high school level would appear to be around a grade 11 (age 16) or grade 12 (age 17) Canadian high school graduate
Look at the chart in the link below for self assessment
http://www.scqf.org.uk/content/files..._-_July_09.pdf
If you have completed an apprenticeship with certificate in Scotland, this is probably similar to someone completing a trade apprenticeship in Canada - plus you have other qualifications?
You mentioned the Motor trade, so its either Motor vehicle mechanic or a service (management) advisor?
Is the following typical of what your training & job description might be - or is it something different?

Re: Scottish Qualifications
on a search from what you told us about the level 3 with the 'institue of customer service'
I pulled out this
In Canada
Auto Service Advisor Certificate - 7285
In the UK
http://www.open.ac.uk/choose/vocatio...tion-structure
maybe the Canadian customer service association has reciprocal agreements with the UK?
Customer Service Institute of Canada
