Does anyone know of any Scottish pubs in Calgary? I came from Coatbridge to Calgary 2 years ago and am looking to see some SPL games.
Just out of interest, how many Scottish people are there in Calgary? I have bumped into only 2 in 2 years. Am I the 3rd in Calgary or are there more?

Hi Adrian! I'm from Edinburgh, we've just moved to Calgary having lived in Ontario for 4 years. There were 2 or 3 Scottish pubs back in Windsor (inc the Scottish Club) that always showed the SPL so I'm sure there must be something here. I prefer the NHL though!! Of course there's a lot to be said for Strongbow and McEwan's on tap and deep fried haggis on the menu.

I've only seen Irish pubs.... but I don't go downtown very often....
I've met quite a few scottish guys and gals playing indoor (field) hockey at Talisman Centre on Friday nights through the winter season. Currently we play outdoor league at Hawkins Field (at the university) on Thursday evenings.

My dad is Scottish and swears by the Cat and Fiddle on 16th. (bagpipes hanging from the walls, flags up, Robbie Burns display - of course also a countdown to St Patrick's day, but we won't mention that). Mind you, we have bagpipes for the most random events here - Dad was asked to pipe in Santa at the Red Deer mall last year...

It obvious to me from his ruddy complexion, beer gut and the fact he can enter and leave your house without being detected that the b*****d must come from Glasgow

Thanks for the help people. I think I will try Cat & Fiddle and Drum & Monkey. I might also give the field hockey a go.
To all Scots in Calgary........see you in one of the above mentioned pubs. Orrabest.
