School records

We are moving to PEI in March of next year and although getting my daughters school records will not be a problem I just have one question.
My daughter will be six in December 2007, once we move (March 2008) when could she start school in Canada - straight away or would she have to wait till the start of the next school year?
Sorry if this seems like a silly question, but her current school only take pupils in January or September.

You mentioned that the school your child attends has lost the SATs records. I work as an Assessment Officer in our local secondary school and when of my daily pleasures is to collect data relating to all our students
It is a legal requirement that all SATs results are forwarded to the local authority and DfES, usually in July of each year. As far as I am concerned the school database should hold all these results. If for whatever reason they have "gone astray" then either the local authority or DfES should be able to provide you with the information you need.
If a child enters our school without their SATs results we have a website we go to where all national records are kept. By submitting the childs Unique Personal Number we can pick up all assessment information relevant to that child - I see no reason why your daughter's school cannot do the same.

I did a Google search for schooling in PEI, and found that there were two English public (state) school boards for PEI, the Western School Board and the Eastern School District.
If I were you, I would e-mail the school boards and ask them.

I can't speak for PEI, but here in Calgary your daughter would start school when she arrived in March 2008.

Very unlikely, and you will not have any choice as to what service she gets anyway. Did you not check this out first?
http://www.qp.gov.sk.ca/documents/En...tutes/E0-2.pdf -
Section 186 is what you should look at. A number of prescriptives and then the all important "we can do what we like anyway" clause. The school board will have to re-assess your daughter if she has difficulties. Cherry picking to get the best services/school will be blocked, unless your daughter's difficulties are severe.
