It is common to stipulate completion of grade 12 schooling (to age 18), not come across anyone saying 12 years of school for a job though. I just put education etc. on a resume and nobody ever asked to see any certificates, had to show licenses & log books though. Could be worthwhile getting copies, but might be best to tell them your schooling and ask if they need copies before going to the bother.
If you have a college or university certificates, these may well do as an alternative.

Trade, professional & degree certificates and experience records, such as licenses and log books are another thing. Always a good idea to keep these. Have been very glad I kept all these safe.
