Rural Internet Access Ontario
Has anyone used Xplornet for rural internet access or could anyone recommend an alternative?

Yep,
thats the only one we have access to in the area that we are.
Its more expensive than others but we dont seem to have many problems, except when im watching corrie, and boys are gaming, then I get shouted at.

Yes, we do - their satellite internet service. It's "ok"... Very expensive, slow and restrictive download allowance limits, but pretty reliable, which is why we couldn't stay with our previous local fixed wireless provider. Before switching to Xplornet we didn't have any stupidly low download limits to worry about (as long as you didn't go really overboard) but we actually had no internet half the time!

I read somewhere today that Canada ranks 38th in average down load speeds and 62nd in upload, behind countries like Mongolia, Zimbabwe and Kazakhstan(sp)!!

Would have worked out cheaper for me to have gone with Xplornet this last month for sure...
