We're assuming that we need to have satellite TV in Calgary to have any chance of getting tri-nations, 6 nations etc. Any ideas on how frequently or what times rugby gets shown? Also, anyone know about a rugby league which apparently has games between Vancouver/Calgary, etc?
Hopefully my British husband will convert to Hockey and this info will be obsolete anyway!

As for popular sports soccer is the most participated sport in Canada.
Hockey is the boys most popular but with the Girls Soccer wins by about 500,000.

It might be worth adding that curling is in fact a Scottish game and has only been adopted by Canada, obviously due to the large Scottish immigrant community and abundance of frozen lakes. That's why the British women's team won the olympic gold (cos they were all Scottish if I recall).

I wish we could get British Rugby League over here.
I don't mind the Aussie Rugby League, but the strange thing is the feed that we get over here for the games is actually SKYSPORTS.
I have written several emails to Fox but still no look?
An Rugby League fans out there?
