Richmond Hill Ontario
Originally we had our heart set on London but my partners boss has said he'd like an office in Richmond Hill. Does anyone on here live or have been there? What's it like?
Thanks in advance for responses

Novo lives there but he's gone to France for the summer. One would want to do that.

dbd33 is not a lover of suburbia so his musings on such often reflect that. Richmond Hill is directly north of Toronro and and is a newish area from a development standpoint. Lots of new sub-divisions and light commercial business buildings. It has a new look to it and not much character but it has all the requirements of life with plenty of shopping, schools, sports facilities etc. If you have a family it would be a good place to bring them up.

Auld Yin is correct in that there is a great deal of fairly recent and ongoing development, but there is also the original village community centred on Yonge north of Major Mackenzie and points west to the Mill Pond. This is where I live and I wholeheartedly recommend it unless you are an idiot who wants 3 garages and 4000 sq ft of living space.
OP is welcome to PM for any details she needs.

So where in Canada did you find a little charm? If you're going to shoot something down don't you think you should present at least one alternative?

Each to his own, but you were obviously looking at the wrong part of town... next time start at Mill Pond and stroll around the neighbourhood to the east of there.

Hey, I currently live just north of Richmond Hill, born and raised in Toronto though. Richmond Hill isnt just being built up all at once, there has been a good size population that has been their for some time now.
Obviously suburban but there is a ton in RH to do and around. Its got a fairly diverse population, which is good and its still safe to raise a family. Lots of shopping, diff places to eat, bars, etc... If you want any info about specifics just ask. As for certain jobs its not all there, you may have to commute to Toronto, which can be a pain in the &#*@ drive.
