Hi all, I read and article in the Canadian News, pluggin Revelstoke B.C as good place to visit and live. Nothing in the archives about the place. Has anyone been there or lives there that can pass on their views on the place?

Which canadian news are we talking about here, and did they talk about the job situation at all? From what I can garther, looks like the resort and skiing business is huge round there. It sure looks beautiful from the pictures, but I doubt there are many large companies round there, one might have to travel afar for work.

It says there that 7,500 call it home.

Hi

Yes, I have visited Revelstoke. Beautiful but felt poor. The houses in the downtown area were all very run down etc, however saw some half decent ones on the outskirts. Quite a small place with no industries to speak off and not that many shops etc. Nice place to visit but I would never ever want to live there!

Revelstoke was one of my favourite stops for dinner when I used to do Calgary-Vancouver runs. I like the town a lot. In a beautiful spot. But I cannot imagine there is any work to be had there. Also it does get snowed in regularly in the winter.
