Reusing police certificates

I've recently had my application refused (See previous threads if you interested in how it happened, not that its very interesting though).
So my question is I had a police certificate + translation done in Italy which was sent off with my application.
1) Can I get those documents back (just the police certificates)?
If not
2) If I were to apply to immigration again they would supposedly have the old certificate (filed) and I could in theory avoid having to re-order the certificate from Italy. Is this right?
My concern is that I'm leaving Italy and I'd like to avoid having to visit Italy and their bureaucratic offices just to order a police certificate (you can forget about doing it by post in Italy - no chance).
I would appreciate any info, thanks in advance.

1. You will probably not get them back, even if you ask for them.
2. PPC's generally are required to have been issued in the past 6 months. Even if you get the same one you sent for your application, it will probably have exceeded its validity. Most people who ask for PPC's generally require that the PCC have been issued in the past 6 months

Police certificates cannot be older than 6 months when submitted. It seems that the
one you submitted with your original application is already too old.
I also strongly recommend hiring professional assistance of experienced immigration
practitioner based in Canada if you want to re-apply. New application after initial
refusal must deal not only with issues disclosed in the refusal letter but also with
all problems you may not be aware of but which may be found when analyzing your
previous application's file.

In general, yes, but what about those certificates issued from countries, where
clearly stating that what time you lived there and during that time, you were clean?
I am a human, should I believe that the 6 months validation refers to those
certificates from where you are currently living?

All police certificates required to be submitted with the application must be less
than 6 months old, no matter what.
