Hey all,
I start work back over this way of the Atlantic and I received a letter about my tax residency from my bank which has opened a bit of a can of worms and many other implosions inside my head.
I've moved a couple of times before but thankfully never during a tax year until now.
As I understand it as I have no ties remaining in Canada I was no longer a tax resident there the day I left the country which I'd assume would make me a tax resident in the UK where I flew to.
HMRC want me to do a self assessment which asks for my taxable foreign earnings. I only worked 3 and a half months his year in Canada and a small part of that was before the UK tax year began. In total I earned around $10k in Canada and I was expecting that I'd be able to claim some of this back at the end of the Canadian tax year.
After reading through the CRA website I thought I'd best send of an NR73 - Determination of Residency Status but that asked for my earnings which I don't have in full because of a short temp role I had in January.
That temp role are now going to put my ROE up onto Service Canada which I'm trying to sign up for but they require my CPP or EI Access Code and I don't have a scooby how to get them.
Now I'm wondering if the silver lining of this is that I can get a rebate on my CPP but as I don't have any correspondence on that I'm at a loss. Would this be part of my Canadian Tax Return for 2016 once I have my T4's?
Most importantly I just don't want to get totally screwed by HMRC and be due money back on the little amount I've made this year.
And on top of that I'm going to be sleeping pretty much 95% of the time that the Flames are playing!
Apologies if I've got this in the wrong forum, any suggestions are appreciated if you can decipher the questions.

Called Service Canada to see about getting a PAC so that I can register for my online account. They can't give me one as I've a temporary SIN so I'll get back on to Randstad who were my employer and ask for my payslips (no longer on the system) and ROE once again.
I asked about my CPP and I can claim that back...once I've turned 60 I'm to get in touch and they will issue me with monthly payments
Found that pretty funny. Australia returned my Super to me after some minor hassle. Think it was about 60 pound in the end.
I'm still very confused about the tax returns.
