Have used Air Transat many times in the past, however, after my last flight with them (Toronto - Glasgow - Manchester - Toronto, Cattle Class...Never again. Always knew seating/leg room was tight with them but that last trip was the worst! Never again...will pay the extra to fly Scheduled in future. Perhaps I'm just getting old...

I'm just grateful they fly to Gatwick, because my UK home is in Sussex. It cuts more than an hour off my journey, compared with an Air Canada flight to Heathrow.

If you upgrade your seat there is quite a difference in both leg room and service (and booze is free)

Scheduled in future, my days of flying 'cattle class' are over.

You get what you pay for - cabin crew were all nice and only an 8/9 hour flight so. I was a bit annoyed that on a recent flight from Calgary to Manchester that they had no seat back entertainment but hey most people have ipad, iphone etc.
However, considering how cheap it is I would never consider any other option. Maybe I'm not old enough yet

I was really suprised when we flew with them back in November / December (YYZ to MAN on an A330 and MAN to YYZ on an A310), just how much room we had seat wise. It was comparable to Air Canada. I'd last flew with Air Transat in 2005 and remembered sitting with my knees up to my chin.
Fair enough, this time we had the bulkhead on the outbound for the skycot (so a bit more room), but then on the way back to Canada we had an infant and a two year old on our laps (row 20 odd I think, nothing special) and it wasn't too uncomfortable.
Only thing letting them down is IFE, but apparently they are in the middle of a big upgrade with regards to that.
I'd fly with them again if the price is right.

I have mostly flown with AT, but , when I go home next month I have booked AC. I just cant face another night flight back to the UK. AC was only $100 more than AT, I found that if you can book far enough in advance, the price difference between the two airlines is not that great. Flight time's with AC are better, well from Toronto they are.
Flying into, and out of Heathrow save's me journey time to my family and with a 12 noon flight home, means I dont have to go the night before, and stay in a hotel at approx 79 plus dinner and breakfast.
