You should find it pretty easy to book into a motel wherever you travel too- may not be luxury but serviceable, B&B's can be a more expensive option. As for hiring a car, I would seriousley consider doing that from UK side, when my hubby came for a week last year (actually it's nearly two years ago now :scared: )he hired one at the airport - nothing fancy just a Sunfire and that set him back $600 + taxes, hiring one for him from the Uk 4 weeks later for a week was about 150 pounds and I think he got a better car, the firm we used was something like holiday autos. Both times he picked the car up from Calgary. Good luck with your interviews and I hope the roads stay snow free for you!

Hi Daz & Jackie, i have just come across you postings and i guess by now you are back home from your mad journey around Alberta.
I am only posting because we moved to Medicine Hat in October from Stoke on Trent (originally from Sheffield) with our 2 young boys and we are loving it.
Just wondered how your trip went and did you get a job in MED HAT?
cheers Tracy & Andy.
