Removal Companies - PSS
Hey Guys
Well have had all my preliminary quotes.
PSS come in cheaper, with Foxes in 2nd place.
We have used Foxes before and were very happy with them, although this time money is of the essence.
Can anyone give feedback on PSS
Any knowledge much gratefully received.

Were at about the same stage as you, just before christmas we had a few companies come & quote. PSS are our second preference at the moment with Pickfords top of the pile but there is very little between the 2 price wise. We just preferred the guy who came round, he had answers to all our questions and we didnt feel like we were getting the hard sell like some others who came round. Were yet to book anything as yet but I would imagine we will be in the next month or so for an April move.
Good luck

Imove international, no storage, but included full pack and unpack + removal of packaging materials. Have had another survey done today, just waiting on that. If we share a 40ft container we will save 25%

Can slow things down - as it depends in what you are shipping and what the people sharing with you are shipping. For example if customs have issue with someones goods (maybe not yours - it can hold everything up.)
We have had four companies come to see us and at the moment Whites seem most likely !

Re: Removal Companies - PSS
Our quotes of around £1750 for 200 cubic feet. which we are told will be around a 1/4 of a container. We had a slightly lower figure in our minds when we decided to ship our stuff, more around the £1200 mark for what were taking. The 200 cubic feet sounds like a small amount for a 3 person family but were not taking any large pieces of furniture like sofa's or beds, just the personal items from our lives here in blighty.

Our quotes are c. £4300 for a 20ft to NS (from the Scottish Borders - east, so probably a bit more as they have to get us to the West for a port I think).

Fine others who are moving at the same time as you, you will save 25% between you with a 40/45ft container, that's what we are doing. Point of entry for shipments to Canada is all the same (Apart from BC I think). Then Canada agent will unload the container and send both families personal effects there separate ways. NS lots cheaper than somewhere like Manitoba or Saskatoon.

We have just put a deposit down with The Moving Partnership, a sole use 20 ft container for £3700. PSS were our 2nd cheapest and we really like them but also like the MP guys and they were £500 cheaper.

We are going with Whites - Strangely cheaper than many and really like their set up.
