Hi everyone I have a question about red seal exams, I am a gas technician in the UK, I have sent my credentials and experience to have them checked and been told that they are the equivalent to a level2, but I've been told that I would need to challenge the gas tech 3 and 2 exams before looking for work, I am planning to either use the TWP or PNP route (Nova Scotia), I would just like to know if anyone else has experience of studying for these exams and taking them? Also does anyone know of any good study material to help prepare?
All help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

I don't know about the Red Seal but just wondered if you are aware that the use of natural gas is very limited in Nova Scotia. There is virtually no domestic use and only limited commercial or industrial use. Any use is in Halifax/Dartmouth. I don't know how popular propane is but it is used. Just thought you should know this as it may well limit the scope of job opportunities. Good luck.

tradesmen responding is few n far between on here mate, am a pipefitter sitting the exam this year on IEC, if you ask your provinces apprentice training board or government website, they take ages to respond but do respond. also you need to find there regs book n standards amazon could be your friend or a north American/Canadian gas standards book site.
have a loot at exambank.com this site is dedicated to studying material for trades going to Canada, you will have to pay for a study pack but they are good for it I paid and received practice questions that night.
All the best

P.S
do they allow you to take Tables into the exam, for pipe materials pressures and wall thicknesses/BWG gage.
^^ just incase one does respond
