Hello,
I'm looking for a bit of advice on attaining my Red Seal for Metal Fabrication, Welding, or Sheet Metal Work.
I've been a welder fabricator for 12 years and am level 3 apprentice trained in the UK.
Am I right in believing I am required to prove I have logged at least 9000 hours in my trade? If so, how do I go about doing this?
Is there any other documentation I must provide? I am guessing I will need to send them copies of my City and Guilds certificates, in order to authenticate my training in the UK?
Can anyone point me in the right direction to find an exam center in BC? Ideally Vancouver? I have of course emailed BCIT and ITA BC, but am waiting to hear back from them.
I'm a little bit lost as to where to start with this and it seems that I will need to acquire my Red Seal in order to feasibly get a job offer through the FSW program, on a TWP with no LMO.
If anyone could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance,
Dave

ITABC is the governing authority in BC. You have no choice but go through them, so you'll need patience.
Everything you require is here...
