Default Recognition of UK qualifications in Canada

Hi everyone,

Hope you're all well. Happy Mother's Day to all the momma's already in Canada

I just have a question with regards to recognition of UK qualifications in Canada. My husband is training to become and electrician and this will be a City & Guilds qualification. Does anyone know if this is accepted in Canada? Or would he have to completely re-train again on arrival?

Thanks in advance.

If you do a quick search of the forum for 'Red Seal', you should find some useful info on what your husband will need to do to work as an electrician in Canada.

HTH.

You also might find these links of some use.....

http://www.credentials.gc.ca/immigra...s/engineer.asp

The next three require you select the occupation then choose a province, which will then tell you certification requirements.....

Electricians (Except Industrial and Power System)
Industrial Electricians
Power System Electricians

Hope that helps a little.....
