Default Raynauds disease

Hi,

My son's girlfriend suffers from Raynauds, and she is scared to come to Canada as she thinks the cold will make it worse.

Does anybody already living in Canada suffer from Raynauds, and is it any worse than when they lived in the UK??

Thanks for any help you give.

Graeme

Yes I do - it's a part of having Lupus - and it doesn't matter where you live or what the weather is.

Hiya, I too have Raynauds and absolutely love skiing which can be a pain (literally) especially first thing on a morning when you head out onto the slopes before the suns out and I plan to be doing quite a bit of it once we get out there but I have tonnes of hand warmers which are great for everyday use too, to either pop into your gloves or into your pockets.
If you don't already have these you can get them from camping/outdoorsy shops. I have both the disposible ones which last for hours and hours and are really cheap and the reusable ones which are a bit more expensive and I personally don't think they're as good as they don't get as warm or last as long as the disposible ones but they do come in funky shapes and colours!! You just whack into the microwave in some water to gellify (not sure if that's a word! ) the crystals again, they're called 'Heat in a Click' which you can buy online or they sometimes sell them at those little stalls that they have in the middle of shopping centres etc.

I have mine already packed for when we go!!

Kind Regards

Although this is true.

It is only true to a point.

From the Mayo Clinic website.

"You can have Raynaud's without any underlying disease associated with it, in which case it's called Raynaud's disease or primary Raynaud's. Or it can be part of another disease, in which case doctors may refer to it as Raynaud's phenomenon or secondary Raynaud's."

Balance of the information about Raynauds at this link: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/ray...isease/DS00433

In fact one recommended method of prevention is to move to a location with a milder climate.
