Re: Rate of exchange
Great for my winter vacation in Florida. Bought $1024US today for $1000Can.
I use my ING US dollar savings account. It's a great way to play the currency market.

Right people, I posted this to get some sympathy and to commiserate with others who like us are about to send monies over from the UK not the other way round!!!!! Not for people to start popping the corks and celebrate!!!!
Please feel for us!!

Re: Rate of exchange
You do have a little of my sympathy - coming from UK to Canada right now is really pants.
Hubby, on the other hand is in the UK right now - so we are smiling (just quietly, like ).
Not sure of the direction the exchange rate is likely to take over the next few months (we all need to polish that crystal ball). Are you able to move money over in smaller chunks to minimise the variations?

Re: Rate of exchange
You might get more sympathy in the immigration section if you can get an exchange rate thread past the mods.
Those here already who are too busy making out like bandits with cheap GBP.

"Really pants" is a bit like "completely pants", that the OP mentioned in #1 above. I was being sympathetic, like - got it?

Like it Next that poster will be asking what "got the hump" means, or for someone to explain what "quid" means

OK - so in this instance, "Pants" means rubbish, awful, terrible. The exchange rate is really pants. Bad - not good - low for those coming this way.
