Hello
I'm a Scot about to visit Toronto and I was planning to take 2 bottles of Ardbeg 10 year old as gifts. After checking the customs limits, I see that there is a limit of 1,14 litres on spirits. Will I be hammered for the 0.39 litres extra? I see there are various provincial taxes etc. A quick online search shows I can get Ardbeg 10 year old in Toronto for $99 - roughly £60 - about £20 - 25 more than I would pay here in Scotland. Would it just be easier and cheaper to buy it over there?
Any advice is greatly appreciated

The upside is that if you forget to mention the second bottle on the declaration you'll have to fill out, then with 99.9% certainty, no-one will ever be the wiser.

Since Ardbeg 10 year old is a well known ingredient of explosive devices, alongside other things like toothpaste and shaving cream, you're not allowed to carry it in hand luggage.

The OP will be buying it duty free before boarding presumably? Can they befriend a fellow traveller who is not using their Duty Free allowance on the trip out perhaps?
