Wonder what andy_shiela wuyld have assumed if it was an MUFC crest? Its a dangerous game making assumptions in a text based forum (please note WorldWeary), still no harm done. I used to have a bit of a scouse accent when I was younger, much to my parents horror:)

Can we stop this "mine is bigger than yours" nonsense now please:)

Why don't you ask me instead of posing the question as if i would never see it?

Whats the definition of a ghetto? although you rightly mention the area is a student area, it's not what i would consider a ghetto.

Where is the danger in making assumptions on here? What are you going to do if i'm wrong? send the "lads" round? come after me with an AK47?

As for the "mine is bigger than yours" boasting, i seem to remember a certain non-scouser getting into an arguement and using the fact that his karma was much bigger than his oppos ????

At last, a Burnley fan......................... i'm not one to gloat though, can never gloat for long being a leeds fan, our fortunes change quicker than the Nova Scotian weather.
By all accounts we just about deserved the 3 points but it was a scrappy game?

My brother lives in Leeds, and went to university there as well, paid him many a visit. Anyway...who's what is bigger than others, I thought size didn't matter?

FFS! Dont be ridiculous....

no one uses AK47s anymore, a 9mm is much less conspicuous ;) :)

OK, what would you have assumed then?
On second thoughts, I dont care. The point I failed to make is that its far to easy to assume things about people here, and then tempers rise as its extremely hard to judge how anyone will react on any given day. It seems like more and more people here have been having a bad day for the last couple of weeks. Anyway, as you have noticed, that makes this a less than pleasant place to come. (I liked your post in the other thread by the way)

I called it a gheto simply because that is what it was always called by those who lived there when I lived there, nothing more nothing less.

You have a very good memory about everything I've ever posted it seems. I suppose I should be flattered, but as you know I do post a lot of crap here, with the odd nugget of gold now and then. Can we get on with our lives now please?

I do hope you are correct.

I currently get my fill of "The Red and White Wizards" by paying 30 quid a year to subscribe to Radio Sheffield's live footy commentary (which can interesting for Tuesday night games). Although they would likely get beaten often in the Premiership I would get to see them more on TV.

They (Sheff Utd) were live on TV three times last season, all in the FA Cup; Villa and Arsenal (twice). Sadly I missed the penalty shoot out as I had to go and pick the kids up from school.

Oh ... and while we're at it. Mine is considerably bigger than everyone else's :)

Scrappy indeed, and that was just the fans! Unlike the NS weather, burnley's misfortune never changes! Now, why is it i want to get out of this god forsaken place?

Lol Cool we're in Padiham m8, though I was born and bred on Colne Rd, Burnley (hubby is a Padiham thick neck ;)).

We're hoping to get a PNP to Nova Scotia, we were there for nearly 3 weeks in the summer, and love it......we're possibly going over in Feb if we're no nearer to moving :D

Take Care m8, hope all goes well for you

The answer is simple. Victoria (Vancouver Island) is more British than Britain!!

You have the best of both worlds, yes even cricket, great fish and chips, English pubs and a very busy tourist environment. All of this in a very beautiful waterfront city on a heavenly island. We live "up island" in a smaller community and the nickname "Paradise" Say's it all. Choose Victoria and live happily ever after. Oh did I mention the island has the best climate in Canada!!

Bert ( happy in Canada)

That's great, and I respect your choice of location, but others aren't necessarily looking to "recreate a little Britain" in Canada. Some folks prefer to drop themselves into a more mainstream, less intrinsically 'British', environment. More challenging, different, maybe. More rewarding ? Probably.

Why travel nearly halfway round the world to reinvent 'home' ? Comfortable, less challenging, more familiar ? Whatever.

Horses for courses, as usual.

Rich.
