Question Time
#1
Hi Everyone,
I've been lurking around the board for quite some time now, and have really enjoyed all of the insights into Canadian life.
My wife and I are giving serious thought to emigrating to Canada, we have friends out there who emigrated 4 years ago and they say that it's the best thing they ever did. We went skiing last January and loved the place, we're going back next January and again in the summer months to get a feel for the place. If we still like the idea this time next year we'll get the ball rolling.
Now for my question, and I'm sure this will sound petty to most of you!!
I'm a big Manchester United fan (season ticket holder) and although I'd miss going to the games greatly, I think I'd be able to cope if I could watch them on the TV. Does anyone know if you can get UK sport in Canada either on satellite or cable? I know it would probably be on at stupid O'Clock in the morning (
) but I don't care.
Any advice you could give you be great
Cheers
Ps Great site and loads of good info, keep it coming!!

Have a look at http://www.zap2it.com - you'll need a post code to get the channel listings.
You could always get into hockey - faster and more exciting than footie.

Welcome Rick. No problem at all with soccer, cricket is another thing. Too much of the Scum on TV if you ask me. Search the archive, its been answered before. Currently regular cable (Rogers sportsnet)carries three prem games saturday morning, and digital (Fox Sportsworld) carries more, plus there are PPV options too. I kind of like watching in the morning, it frees up the rest of the day for other things and recovering from the shock of losing to bolton

I moved over from Scotland to Edmonton in May and was concerned about not being able to watch the footy, my two young boys (8 and 6) are crazy about it.
I was pleasantly surprised with the coverage over here, usually at least 3 live premiership games per weekend, more than can be said for the UK.
So you will soon be able to see Liverpool beat Man Utd, no need to worry !!!
Plus, my two boys played in the summer 'Soccer' league and their skill level was significantly higher than their Canadian peers which was great !!

Yes you can ! We were in applebees ( restaurant ) last week for a meal, and one the channels was showing a game, that involved India and someone else. Places like "the outback" ( restaurant ) also carry football games and rugby.
Football.....I guess Bolton is not to be overlooked this season then, with Mike Owen leaving, there isn't much left at Liverpool, I will be surprised if they stay up

England are going to have to step up their game a notch against poland in the next game, because poland have just put 3 past Northern Ireland ( I know it's only NI )

Hi
Big rugby fan.
Can you get any rugby on any form of TV?
I would be lost without my weekly fix of it.
Yes I am a sucker for punishment.
Been trying to get into Ice Hockey on NASN over here. Like the fights!!!
