Pursue Independant class or work Permit. Conflict ?
Hi ,
Would appreciate if someone could throw some light on this matter.
I completed my medicals 4 weeks ago and Im currently waiting for my Visa. I dont know how long this will take. ( Months maybe ? )
Last week I was sucessful in getting a job in Canada and recently got it validated by HRDC.
Now my employer thinks i should start on the work permit and both applications can go side by side ie Independant class and Work permit.
But reading the work permit kit on the webiste, it mentions that in order to secure a work permit granted by CIC, I must satisfy an officer that I will leave Canada after the employment. But how can this be possible when i have to tell the officer that i have a permanent residence application pending ? Furthermore my Independant class appln sits at one centre and my work permit is to be filed at another centre closer to me. Do i just inform the centre dealing with my independant class about my recent job offer or file for a work permit ?
Would appreciate if someone could throw some light on this matter.

The one has nothing to do with the other.Only if you will raise the
suspicion that in the case your application for permanent residency is
denied
you will remain in Canada beyond the expiry of you temporary visa(be it a
work or a student permit) you will be refused a work permit.
This will usually be the case with third world people who will try to escape
from their countries by all means.
